			Hello and welcome to the coverage of the first match in the three-match one-day international series between West Indies and Sri Lanka, being played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
			After the Test series was drawn 1-1, the one-day international series is one that will certainly be interesting, if only to offer one of the participants some kind of ODI form as neither has been in top form for some time now. In fact, a look at the last five matches both West Indies and Sri Lanka have played sees only a single victory - one that the visitors secured whilst failing to qualify for the Commonwealth Bank Series finals in Australia.
			The West Indies return to ODI action for the first time since the 5-0 whitewash inflicted on them by South Africa but a home series victory against the 2007 World Cup runners-up, returning to the scene of their near miss, would certainly be a boost for Chris Gayle's side.
			There is very little change to the West Indies line-up from that on duty during the Test series. The only possible alteration is the inclusion of Runako Morton instead of Devon Smith in the middle order. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are making a few changes, none bigger than the absence of Muttiah Muralitharan, who is being rested from the one-day games. His place will surely go to Malinga Bandara while Mahela Udawatte will open the batting with Upul Tharanga.
			It will be the 44th time that these two sides have played in one-day internationals, but incredibly only the seventh in the Caribbean (they have played 29 on neutral ground!). The head-to-head record favours the home side 24-18 with one no-result but in the Caribbean, Sri Lanka lead 4-2 in the six games to date.
			This will be the 57th one-day international to be held on this ground and the West Indies have a moderate record. In 46 previous matches, they have won 25, lost 17 and had four no-results. For Sri Lanka, this will be their sixth match here and they have won four of the previous five but they haven't played the West Indies here since 1997 - and both sides have won a game each.
			The highest individual score for West Indies v Sri Lanka is 181 by Vivian Richards at Karachi in 1987/1988.
			The highest individual score for Sri Lanka v West Indies is 132 by Avishka Gunawardene at Nairobi in 2000/2001.
